Our Programs

Focused, on-ground programs that reach people where they are.

What we do

Seven ways we bring light

Each program is run by volunteers and supported by donors who believe in direct, dignified help.

Medical Camps
01

Medical Camps

Access to a doctor should not depend on the size of one's wallet or the distance to a hospital. Our medical camps bring qualified doctors, basic diagnostics and essential medicines into neighbourhoods, slum clusters and villages where healthcare is hard to reach.

  • General health check-ups and doctor consultations
  • Blood pressure, blood sugar and haemoglobin screening
  • Eye and dental check-up camps

Old Age Home
02

Old Age Home

Old age should be a season of rest and respect, not loneliness. Our old age home offers elderly men and women who have no one to look after them a safe place to live, nourishing food, medical attention and, above all, the warmth of a family.

  • Safe shelter and clean, comfortable living spaces
  • Nutritious meals served three times a day
  • Regular health check-ups and medicine support

Ration Distribution
03

Ration Distribution

For a daily wage earner, one week without work can mean an empty kitchen. Our ration distribution programme provides carefully assembled dry-ration kits to families who are struggling to put food on the table.

  • Monthly dry-ration kits for verified families
  • Priority support for widows, elders and the disabled
  • Emergency relief during crises and lockdowns

Educational Help
04

Educational Help

Gyan means knowledge, and Jyoti means light. Education is at the heart of our name. We help children from struggling families stay in school and learn with confidence, so that they can build a better future for themselves and their families.

  • School kits: books, notebooks, bags and stationery
  • Uniforms and shoes for school children
  • Fee assistance for deserving students

Food Distribution
05

Food Distribution

No one should sleep hungry. Our food distribution drives serve freshly cooked, nutritious meals to homeless people, daily wage workers, patients' attendants outside hospitals and families living on the margins.

  • Regular hot meal drives in underserved areas
  • Meals for patients' attendants near hospitals
  • Community bhandaras on festivals and special days

Helping Blind People
06

Helping Blind People

Sight lost to cataract can often be restored, and life without sight can still be lived with independence and dignity. We work on both fronts — preventing avoidable blindness and supporting people who live with visual impairment.

  • Eye screening and spectacle distribution
  • Support for cataract surgeries
  • White canes and mobility aids

Blanket Distribution Program
07

Blanket Distribution Program

Delhi's winter nights can be deadly for people who sleep on footpaths, under flyovers and in makeshift shelters. Every winter, our volunteers go out late at night to cover them with warm blankets and to bring winter clothing to families in need.

  • Late-night blanket drives across Delhi
  • Sweaters, caps, socks and shawls for families
  • Special focus on the elderly and young children
